Getting The Most Out of College Classes!

Hello Bloggers, I am a freshman at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania Punxsutawney campus. The branch of Indiana I attend is way smaller than the main campus of IUP which holds about 13,000 students and my campus only holds about 200 students.  The classrooms at my campus are a great size. There are about thirty to forty students in each class.

College classrooms are mostly lecture based and you are expected to take notes. Taking notes is key to success in college but when taking notes you should know what to write down. Write down key points in the lecture and elaborate if it is possible. To get the most out of a college class you should take notes, then after class review your notes individually and also compare them with a peer to make sure you didn’t miss any key facts. It is also a great idea to meet up with your professor at least once a week because it will give them the idea that you care about your grades and also your future.

When it comes to note taking I know some students take notes on their computer and others take hand written notes. Personally I take hand written notes. I find it easier to focus and review compared to notes taken on a computer. According to the article, research shows computers are a distraction. It is also a known fact that writing longhand notes is the best method to use when you are processing information. I recommend taking written notes because in the long run it will benefit your processing and your review.

Lets Tie This Into Family and Social Life

Ok Ok, as I said in the previous blog you will have very few friends going thru this process. Most people will soon be labeled as an acquaintance. But family is very important! Your social life is also important because the more people you know the more opportunity will come your way.

FAMILY- Alot of people have a different look on who what the word family means and who they would consider family. Personally I dont think blood makes you family its mainly the people who support you, love you and see potential in you. This is based off of personal experience but I have "family" (blood) I dont even care to speak to. I have friends that I am closer to than most of my family members. Well family can be a key aspect to being a Girl Boss. They will be your support system and so much more!

SOCIAL LIFE- When it comes to your social life, you wouldn't want it to be dry. You need to get out and exceed your comfort zone. You need to try things you never thought about doing especially things that will grab peoples attention and run the show. Slowly build an army they can really help in the end not only with support but they can help to brand you and get your name out to the public in a good way.

Don't forget to keep your head high and never let your crown slip, we are all QUEENS!

Build up your confidence, its ALL about what you think!

KAYNE KAYNE KAYNE!
If you're wondering why I am chanting Kayne right now its because his ego is ridiculously high. When it comes to becoming a Girl Boss your confidence has to be sky high! Personal opinions cannot influence you, not one bit! You have to look at them and question, who are they to be questioning me?

For example you can wear a red top, blue pants and green shoes but if you put yourself on a high enough pedestal when people judge you in a negative way you will brush it off and eventually when they see it doesn't bother you they will stop or learn to look up to you because your confidence level is so high and nothing can bring you down.

Don't get me wrong there is always room for improvement but there is no time to dwell on negative thoughts and let someone else influence you in a way that will not help you build or improve.

Lets throw in a quick personal story, in high school I played three sports (softball, basketball and soccer) I noticed when my teammates went into a game with the mindset that we were going to lose 95% of the time it came out true and we performed bad. I cant stress it enough that your mindset and confidence is the most important thing because if you start a task with the mindset that you are going to demolish it you are one step closer to performing better because your confidence is key!

Who would you consider to be the most confident celebrity?

Forget what everyone thinks, ITS ALL ABOUT YOU!

Don't forget to keep your head high and never let your crown slip, we are all QUEENS!

What is a Girl Boss? How do you become a Girl Boss?

What is a Girl Boss? My definition of a Girl Boss is someone who has it put together or at least someone who is taking those steps towards pulling themselves together and is very confident while doing it.

How do you become a Girl Boss? Well becoming a Girl Boss is easy as long as you have an open mind and you're not afraid to stand out.  Your confidence level must be at least at Kayne's level or higher, you cannot dwell on what others think of you or how people portray you. Lead by example, give people something to look up to! This brings me to my next idea, "Friends? More like acquaintances!" yes, I agree this post is harsh but it is the truth once you start to boss up people will either become jealous and envy you or they will try to join you which also ties into the social life part of this Girl Boss lifestyle. The more acquaintances you have the more opportunities will come your way and it will help to brand yourself and get your ideas out there. Lead by example and I promise you people will start to follow you and question you on how you're becoming successful in every aspect. Slay Girl Boss, You Got This!
